Description

Hello guys! Back with another tutorial thing! Kinda step by stepish but I will explain what's happening in this little description box!

1. Prepare your lineart above all colors layers like you usually would! Sometimes I put the hair lineart on a layer completely different from the rest for easy adjustments!
2. Use the magic wand tool to select outside of the lineart then go up to selection and press invert. This way all the lines on the inside won't interfere and it'll be easier to select the entire silhouette.
3. Fill the selected area with the color of your choice! I like to use darker colors for this! The reason for this is because...
4. In able to fill in the hair and skin area with our fill bucket, we must first make a folder. Let's name is colors! Then we clip that folder to the brownish flat color layer or "Base" layer so that everything inside the folder will not go outside the boundaries that the "base" layer has set. After that we make the lineart folder the selection source and use our fill bucket (also switched to selection source) to fill in the hair and skin! The way this works is it's kinda like those quick online color books! The lines were just made entirely by you!
5. We have it all filled in now! Sometimes the bucket won't fill corners so use your brush or pen tool to fill it in!
6. Now, lets pick a shading color! Sense our hair is a light pink, our shading options are reddish tones all the way to blues! As for highlights, I suggest a nice yellow! I decided to go with a reddish tone! I take my brush tool and just fill in an arch shaped area of color!
7. Next I use the default blur tool and blur out the bottom edge of our arch!
8. After that, it's time to get an eraser with the softest edge shape and erase the sides you fill fit!
9. Then get a brush tool with the softest edge shape and create little peaks for details!
10. Lighten the opacity of the layer we were working on, click the preserve opacity box and get a much darker color. Get your airbrush tool and airbrush the top edge of our first layer of color. Next make a new layer and use the same color you used for the first layer of details and add in shading! Keep an eye on the light source!
11. This step is easy. Just get an airbrush tool, switch it to transparent by clicking the little grey and white checkered box under the color boxes and erase the bottom edges of our shading layer.
12. Time to add more depth! Get a darker less saturated color to add more shading under the hair on a completely new layer.
13. Make a new layer and switch it to Lumi & Shade. Get a yellow color and airbrush the side where the light must be coming from!
14. With yet another new layer, add another layer of depth with an even darker color!!
15. Next add a streak of light across the hair and airbrush some blue at the tips! The blue is optional but makes it look a bit more dreamy!
16. Lastly make a brand new layer and set it to Lumi & Shade! For the shade, add a dark blue to the shadowed area. For the lumi, add more yellow!! If you want the hair to fade a bit into the skin, airbrush the skin color onto the parks of the hair around the face! Then you're done!!

I added an eye because faceless things disturb me e _ e; I hope you guys can follow what I was doing with the images and text!! Thank you so much for 2.1k!!
You're all so super lovely!!!!!!!!

Few tutorials are this elaborate. Praise where praise is due; this is really good and detailed.
